The Classical Tour
A three-hour sightseeing tour will give you a first impression of the city's dimensions and its many different aspects. The tour starts in the western city center with the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the legendary Kurfürstendamm and the KaDeWe department store. It continues to the Bauhaus Archive, the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (House of World Cultures), the diplomatic quarter in the Tiergarten and, of course, the Victory Column, along with the Philharmonic Hall and the New National Gallery, which are part of architect Hans Scharoun's Kulturforum (Cultural Forum). Further out is Charlottenburg Palace, built in what was once a rural village setting.

Berlin's "New Center" between the western and eastern city centers includes the new Berlin main station, the government buildings and the Reichstag building with its glass dome, along with Potsdamer Platz, which is flanked by the Sony and Debis buildings. In former East Berlin the tour takes you past the Brandenburg Gate to Unter den Linden, the grand boulevard lined with the reconstructed buildings of the Hohenzollern era. In Nikolaiviertel (Nikolai Quarter), you can get some impression of historical Berlin, and even more at Gendarmenmarkt and Museum Island with the Pergamon Museum. With its glamorous stores, Friedrichstrasse represents new elegance while Alexanderplatz and the Television Tower are prime examples of the building style of the communist era. The Hackesche Höfe, Scheunenviertel (Barn District) with its narrow streets, the New Synagogue and the tenement houses in Prenzlauer Berg round off the multi-faceted picture of the city.

The exact route depends on the starting-point and the current traffic situation, so the order in which you see the sights can change. You can alter the Berlin Tour according to your individual needs and wishes and decide for yourself what you specially want to focus on. And of course you can get out at various points and walk around a bit, provided the group isn't too big.

We recommend you to discuss detailed questions on your route and any specific topics of interest with your tour guide, whose name and phone number are provided with your booking confirmation.

Specialized Tours
We also organise specialised tours on specific subjects with specially qualified guides (such as architecture, art history or museum tours, for example of the Pergamon Museum, the Painting Gallery or Charlottenburg Palace). These can either be included in the general sightseeing tour or tacked on afterwards. They cost an additional guide's fee of 40 € plus 19% VAT; this does not include eventual admission fees, for example for museums.
